This award winning campaign by Chiel Worldwide is really clever.

After conducting a study they found that people in South Korea (the 2nd most hard-working on the planet) didn’t have much time for shopping for groceries. So what better way to solve that than by bringing the shopping experience to their commute home.

Customers use their phones to take picture of QR codes on virtual goods and add them to basket. The items are then shipped to the customers address.

During the period of the campaign, online sales increased 130% and registered users increased by 76%.

Great stuff.

Check out this awareness campaign from UNICEF called Dirty Water. The challenge was the shock the public enough to spread the word about 4,200 deaths of children due to water-related illnesses every single day.

“With 0$ budget, we had to create mass media exposure alarming New Yorkers about the thousands of children dying daily from a lack of clean water, and the urgency to help with donations to UNICEF.”

Passersby could donate in the vending machine or via their mobile using SMS.

Great campaign, they even managed to hit the news.

I love ambient advertising when it’s done right, that wonderful ‘aaah i get it’ moment when you connect the dots is priceless.

Check out this clever campaign by Mini in the Netherlands featuring an empty Mini Cooper box at the side of the road. This fits perfectly with the time of year when roadsides are littered with boxes, wrapping and packaging from Christmas day. Santa is getting generous these days. Read more…

Not sure how scalable this is, but least the overheads are low.

A German book company Eichborn, came up with this innovative and slighly disgusting advertising stunt at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

Would have loved to have seen the guys at the stand next door whip out some DEET and ruin everything.

Does this come under ambient?

Amnesty Internation Eye Ball Tracking Domenstic Abuse Poster

This new campaign from Amnesty International is definitely one of the most innovative I’ve seen this year.

The ad aims to bring awareness to the problem of domestic violence, which as we all know happens behind closed doors, usually when nobody is looking.

Camera technology within the billboard works by scanning the nearby area and tracking eyeballs. When the person looks at the poster it shows a seemingly happy couple, however when their head is turned away it changes to the male punching the female. There is a slight delay in the picture changing, just enough to figure out what’s going on. Read more…
