Hi, My name is Murat Mutlu; I’m a Mobile Advertising Specialist, User Experience (UX) Designer, Product Manager and Evangelist based in London Sydney. It’s a bit difficult to pigeon hole myself into one discipline as I have worked in so many different areas in the mobile and advertising space.
Over the past 6 years at various agencies I have worked closely with brands and agencies such as Vodafone, Barclaycard, Nokia, Pepsi, Ford, Paramount, BBH, Wunderman and Dare to produce and deliver hundreds of effective mobile marketing strategies and campaigns which integrate with TV, Online, Print, Outdoor and Social Media. Some of which have even won or been nominated for MMA and D&AD awards .
More recently at Nokia, I worked as a Mobile Advertising User Experience Product Manager becoming a key part in Nokia’s push towards ad-funded services.
Working with global service lines I utilized technologies such as location, mobile coupons, handset demographics, video, NFC, Flash Lite, image recognition to create relevant and contextual advertising experiences. It was also my job to prove what we were doing was quantifiably viable. I managed large scale qualitative and quantifiable consumer research into creative, concepts and gathered vital insight prior to development, production and strategy.
I have a huge passion for working in mobile, I’m definitely a BIG ideas person.
This blog is a mix of things that I genuinely find interesting, whether it’s in mobile, traditional advertising or social media. It’s also a place for any concepts I have around mobile advertising or some of the gazillion thoughts I have about this industry every day. At some point I plan to put a lot of the work I did at Nokia and Enpocket on the site.
In my spare time I try to work on my own personal projects using both mobile and online. I’m starting to become really interested in photography, hopefully once I figure out all the buttons on my Canon EOS SLR I can take that a bit further! I also love playing competitive football in the London amateur leagues.
UPDATE: Ticket is booked! Coming to Sydney using the Working Holiday Visa on 18th Feb 2010, meaning I’ll be looking for mobile marketing roles, if you know of any opportunities get in touch!
I am currently freelancing for a number of agencies (mobile & traditional) including Mobile Interactive Group, We Love Mobile, Muzicall, The Bank and Movement London, with an eye on any opportunities abroad in places such as Sydney, Los Angeles and New York.
I’m always interested in hearing about new projects to work on, especially doing pro-bono work for charities. Use the contact page to get in touch.
